Well…. It looks like recording will have to wait for a while. I’m in the process of getting ready to relocate to Utah. I’m hoping that the new surroundings will inspire me to be more prolific. I have so many projects and ideas just waiting to be recorded. I’ve been getting choked out by this wretched state for too long now. I hate California and can’t wait to leave. Southern California has been seemingly holding me back my entire life.

QUESTION DIVINE-I have reviewed all my guitar riffs and chose the riffs that I deemed fitting for QD. Unfortunately, there were not many… The truth is that most of my old guitar riffs suck ass hahaha. Some of them will be utilized on the debut QD. Honestly, I’m excited about this project. I get the feeling that it’s going to be kickass.

Another new project has just been birthed: VESPIDAE BANE, which will be a symphonic black metal project.  Now I just have to start actually recording music again haha…

A new project is born: RAIN WORSHIP. RAIN WORSHIP will be atmospheric/ambient dark/doom metal. Why I didn’t think of this name before is beyond me…

In other news, My new recording headphones have been ordered and I’m currently waiting for them to arrive…

Possible breakthrough to report. I may have just discovered how to greatly improve the sound of recording guitars directly from the pedal into the recorder. This is something I’ve been wanting to achieve for a long time, but until now there has been no hope to be found of replacing the technique of mic-ing the amp. If this works out, I may be seriously close to achieving a more dynamic overall sound. I’m quite excited about this possibility. Unfortunately, my headphones took a huge shit, also I just broke a string. Figures…

Well…It looks like I won’t be recording for a little while. My recording headphones are broken and I’ll I’m unsure how soon I’ll be able to buy some new ones. I’m currently unemployed, so needless to say money is tight. In the meantime I plan on getting some drum tracks done.

One day I plan on recording a King Diamond/Mercyful Fate tribute album.

BLESSED REST-The debut album will be entitled In the Year of Our Lord, 1348 and will be a concept album about the black death. Some of the song titles so far thought up are:  God Bless the Plague/Yesinia Pestis/Upon Withered Shoulders/Ashes Ashes/For I Wear the Beak/March of the Flagellants/Chamber of Fire/In the Year of Our Lord, 1348/Written By A Pale Hand.

I have created a new death/doom project called BLESSED REST. It’ll be heavier and lean more towards death metal than OBLIVION WINTERS. No lead patterns in the middle. There will be some harmonizing on the sides, but I expect the sound to be crushing, bleak and doomy. Most likely there won’t be any keyboards on this project, but there could be a touch of organ here and there for a dark effect… We’ll see.

A few days ago, I was goofing around playing OCEANVS and DAEMONIC SHADOW songs, and had quite a bit of fun doing it. OCEANVS was so fun to play that I’m seriously considering starting working on it next. The plan is to prepare the drums in batches of 4-5 songs and then go from there. I have at least 3 SD cards, so space is no problem. Expect to hear either OCEANVS or DAEMONIC SHADOW next. I feel the recording urge getting stronger by the week…

The urge to record is returning (slowly). I just needed a return to the basics to examine why I do this… It was never about the outside world and I feel like my desire to record has been thwarted by outer influences. It must be difficult for people to understand and it must seem selfish, but it’s the honest truth. I appreciate all my “fans” out there and I think it’s quite amusing that people actually like my music, but the only reason I do this is out of a personal need to create and connect to my inner world. That’s all it has ever been about. I will continue to post updates and of course to upload new songs, so nothing will change. While I’m crawling back into my shell a bit, I still wish to keep the portal open to the outer world.
