Better Settings

May 19, 2012 - 9:13 am

OMINOUS GRIM-I just finished the vocals for “Ravens”, “The Fury” and “As the Fog Rolls in for the Slaughter”. The new vocal setting is so much better it’s ridiculous! It’s really no comparison and should be much easier to mix on top of that. I’m so happy I changed the setting now. Now just two more to do “The Rebellion” and “Shunning the Light of Christ” and then I’ll be sending the cards back to Ominous so he can do the final mix for the 5 songs and then do the guitars/bass/first bounce for the 3 new songs.

Quality issues and a new toy

May 18, 2012 - 9:15 am

OMINOUS GRIM-Everything but the vocals and final mix is done for 5 songs (“Ravens”, “As the Fog…”, “The Rebellion”, “The Fury” and “Shunning the Light of Christ”. We thought we had 2 of the songs finished, but the vocals needed to be redone due to quality issues. I’m in the process of finding the right vocal settings on the recorder. I’ll have the vocals done for the 5 songs sometime next week it looks like.

JEZEHELL-The guitar setting has been set, so that’s one less thing to figure out…

OBLIVION WINTERS-Work will begin on the drums for the album Somber Nightfall in the near future. I’m concentrating on OMINOUS GRIM at the moment, so once things settled down I’ll focus my energy on OW a little.

SPELLGHAST-Thanks to Ominous, I now have the same guitar pedal as him (Zoom G2). This was necessary for us to begin working on the new album. I printed out some blank tab sheets, so we’ll be able to write guitar tabs for each other in order to learn each others’ songs.

Ominious Grim – Final Preparations

May 2, 2012 - 1:08 pm

OMINOUS GRIM-The vocals and keyboards are done for “The Rebellion” and “The Fury” and have been sent to Ominous. Once he receives the card, he’ll do the final mix. He still needs to do the guitars and bass for “As the Fog….” and also the 1st bounce for “Ravens”. Once this is done, he’ll send the card back to me and I’ll do the final preparations for the finished songs and then the vocals and keyboards for the unfinished ones.
Yesterday I finished the drums for “The Crowning Thorns of Guilt” and will be working on the drums for 2 other songs in the coming weeks.

OBLIVION WINTERS-It appears that recording will be pushed back for Somber Nightfall because I agreed to work on the drums for 3 new OMINOUS GRIM songs. Once these are finished, I’ll resume with OW.

New Albums…minor setbacks, progress, and plans

April 14, 2012 - 8:52 pm

OMINOUS GRIM-Ominous has finished the drums/guitars/bass for one of the new songs. Also, the drums for the song “Ravens” will have to be re-recorded onto the recorder. Ominous is currently working on the guitars and bass for the songs “The Rebellion”, “The Fury”, and “As the Fog…”.

OBLIVION WINTERS-Work will most likely begin next week on the drums for the songs “Somber Nightfall”, “Confined By Time”, “The Weeping Shadows”, and the instrument song “The Next Mourning”. I will also be searching my old riffs for material to fill out the rest of the songs on the album Somber Nightfall.

March 30, 2012 - 3:13 am

OMINOUS GRIM-The drums are finished for the songs “Ravens”, “The Fury”, “The Rebellion” and “As the Fog…” and will be on the recorder today. Once this is achieved, I will make the appropriate backups and then mail the card to Ominous on Monday. Also, Ominous is getting the hang of his drum machine and is currently working on the drums for the new songs. UPDATE: The drums are officially on the recorder now and the backups were made. All ready to mail to card…
